Reflection!!

This has come to the end of blogpost, from here I learned about to create a readability of document in writing. As Kress and van Leeuwen (2006) stated that to enhance readability, there must be the combination of layouts, framing and salience. And also Walsh (2006) who stated that the mode of context of the document- print-based text or multimodal text can affect the audience. This make me understand that the type of publication can affect a person with the layout, writing and the others.Overall, I have learned the full package of document designing and writing and i also understand that this both must be perfect to create a good document. I would like to thank Miss Jenny for guiding us since the beginning of this course.

Impostors hurt Twitter's Credibility

According to Simon Owens (2009) reported that Twitter, the famous social networking has been use by the celebrity to harm Twitter's credibility. Many celebrity such as Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian and the others actually created Twitter to communicate with their fans. However, some people tend to make celebrity's fake profile by giving the fake news made us cannot even know that it is really credible or not. Simon Owens( 2009) also reported that there is a fake account on Twitter of Dalai Lama which have 20,000 followers and he never tweet anything before and this had been complained and we finally know that it is a fake account. This give a serious problem to journalist and reporters to doubt with the credibility and might report the wrong information to people as Jeremy Porter (2009) stated that 70% of journalist use social networking to help them on reporting. This can be supported by the survey which found that 69 percent of respondents go to company websites to assist in their reporting, while 66 percent use blogs, 51 percent use Wikipedia-wow, 48 percent go to online videos-double wow, and 47 percent use Twitter and other microblogging services -would have guessed higher on this one(Jeremy Porter,2009). Other than that, Peter Sciretta (2009) also stated that this problem can give fake information to the media is a very serious case and he also suggested that this must be done by someone to stop the growing problems of celebrity impostors on twitter. Overall, I think that all these issues cannot be avoided but the only thing is to set regulation on Twitter to perform ethical publishing with credible news and information so that it will not give challenges to journalist to worry about the credibility to give out false information to the public and create misunderstanding.

Twitter and Political Discourse

Based on a article of Syed Jaymal Zahiid (2010) reported that Twitter is the current main source of political news rather than blogs. Syed Jaymal Zahiid (2010) again stated that Facebook and Twitter have seen to lead the increase of visitors compared to blogs. Grant Gross (2006) found out that Henry Copeland who is the president and the founder of Blogads saying that people are participants and they are not consumers when dealing with politics. Grant Gross (2006) again emphasized that the social networking are creating members day by day which are more than CNN.com or NYTimes.com and this can show that politician who do not agree that the social networking can really help to increases the number of potential voters. Politicians tend to use Twitter nowadays is because that there is direct communication with each other. For example, citizens and politicians can discuss and share the news about politics and democracy unlike blogging there is no instant feedback which shows that Twitter can be so much more interesting. This can also be supported by Big Pond News (2010) reported that politician use twitter for election because there is interaction and politicians can be followed by many tweeters in one day as like Prime Minister Kevin Rudd followed by more than 900000 tweeters almost everyday.Big Pond News (2010) also reported that Twitter can use for political discourse because it is more personalized to interact with one by one without needing to filter who should be involve or who should not be involve. Overall, I can see that social networking is currently famous even it is use for politics. This can eventually bring to political discourse because there is interaction and it is interesting to involve with politics using Twitter. By using Twitter, politicians can tweet the main issues or problems using Twitter to let citizen know the direct information about politics and this can also make audience to voice out their problems directly so that politicians can solve it together with them to develop a better country to achieve audience's expectation of country.

Ebooks=New Media

According to Deborah Cornwall (2010) reported that ebooks are getting more popular in these days as she predicted that 50 % of books in digital form will be sold and will change the type of books we read to Ebooks. Nowadays, books in digital form are also released as fast as music or movie. Deborah Cornwall (2010) again stated that the rise of ebooks is due to the emergence of Appple Ipad and Amozon's Kindle Book. Thus, this can also related with new media ecosystem. Remez Sasson (2010) stated that the advantages of Ebooks are we can get instant information by downloading ebooks, ebooks can be interactive with audio and videos and ebooks are portable. As mentioned just now, Ipad increases the rise of ebooks which also related to new media ecosystem. Kristine Lowe (2010) stated that since the launch of Ipad, the role of Ipad might play a role in new media ecosystem because of convenience and long form journalism. Overall, ebooks can form a new media ecosystem to give benefits to people because of the different function. This can change the audience perception can create a new genre as ebooks are more interactive with audios, images and videos because Karen A. Schriver (1997) stated that combination of text and images as it can influence the audience by using images as decorates. Therefore, this is the reason ebooks is getting more and more popular with the catchy features and hope that one day our society can successfully persuade people to involve reading using ebooks.

Privacy Rights is important!

Based on a news article from ABC News(2010) reported that the popular social networking-Facebook admits to breach privacy. This news article reported that the application of Facebook were giving the the opportunity to Facebook member's name to companies to track people by building databases of them. According to Fred Dutton (2010) found out a report by Wall Street Journal saying that all the games in Facebook such as Farmville, Mafia Wars and the others are the applications that gather personal information and sell information to advertising and internet. This somehow have bring issues to the society. Dr Shock (2010) stated that the danger of facebook are identity theft and threats to personal safety which are like stalking, or threatening. Therefore, personal data is very important and we all shall protect it together. Geoff Duncan (2010) reported that European Commission an organization has drafted the data protection policies as this can be concerned for the issue cased by Facebook for breaching privacy. Other than the data protection policies, we as a facebook user should know how to protect our privacy rights as well. Kurt Opsahl (2010) to protect out privacy is to customize privacy settings which is the most protective option. Other than that, ethical publishing is also important in Facebook because Chroman Bier (2010) stated that ethical publishing in social networking is to share messages and not to encourage spamming. Overall, I think that privacy is important even though social networking is to make connections with people but we have to be smart to protect ourselves too to avoid our personal information got track by advertisers or any other people easily because it is our rights and ethical publishing in social networking is also required because it is related to privacy protection too which is should not breach about people's personal information using social networking because it is not ethical!

New form of media publishing

New form of media publishing involves with internet. There are a few new forms of media such as facebook, twitter and youtube. Even newspaper also can get it in online version now. Justin Smith(2008) stated that Facebook can altered communication as it can form relationship also also to increases and expand the communication between each other with direct communication. Therefore, twitter and youtube also can. New forms of media publishing can give benefit to journalist too.As it has the benefit of internet to research and give information and also give new mode of writing to the audience.John Naughton(2006) also stated that relationship of both conventional journalism and new media form can give benefits to both side. Caroline McCarthy(2010) reports that facebook is one of the new form media to promote their new launch for F8 conference. This shows how new form of media is a new trend to influence people in various thing.Other than that, people also use new form of media publishing to promote campaign and also freedom of speech.I also found an example of political campaign promoted by facebook and the result of it http://www.lionbuzz.com/index.php/2010/07/political-campaigns-facebook-as-a-fast-communication-platform/ from Lion Buzz.

The Blogging Community

Nancy White(2006) stated that blog can be classified in three main pattern which are one blog centric community, topic centric community, and boundaried community. Nancy White(2006) also gave the definition of blogging community which is similar to "online community" as the community interact with each other with the use of technologies. Britta Kinkeldei(2007) reports that to create blogging community have to find like-minded people and make connections to expand the blogsphere because it focus on organizations or shared interest as in Britta Kinkeldei(2007) also give definition of blog community is blog that aggregate people with shared interest. She gave two example of blog community as an example, MarmaBlog (for business women) and BlogKite (for those interested in kite). Juan J. Merelo, Beatriz Prieto(n.d.) stated that to perform blog community structure is to identify the audience first and also the information and based on formation, structure and visualization. One of the example of blog community is Jeff Ooi's Global voices. His blog is to report citizen media around the world. Jeff Ooi(2005) stated that he focus on Malaysian citizen as audience and his topic will be about government issues that can bring good future. This is he's structure of blog and his community.

Classfication of Blog and my opinion

From the media report, Margaret Simons(2008) stated that there are taxonomy of blogs. There are pamphleteer blog, the digest blog, the advocacy blog, the popular mechanics blog, the exhibition blog, the gatewatcher blog, the diary, the advertisement, the news blog. According to Donald J.Kochan (2006) defined that pamphleteer blog is the distribution of law, social policy, politics, revolution, social changes, and other subject. Donald J.Kochan (2006) also stated that blogger resemble pamphleteers as the the internet became advance in olden days and this is the start of blogsphere. He also stated that the format of the blog will be distribution of information of idea and information individually. But nowadays, blogs are getting more advance. This can be supported by Cali Williams Yost(2009) also changed his blog and follow the latest blog "Twitter" and he gave the advantages of "Twitter". Thus, we can see that pamphleteer blog is the oldest version of blog where people use to share their views and now the blogsphere has changed and blog is not only for one classification but also there are many genre that we can find using the latest blog "twitter".

Phenomenon of Current Blog and Benefit

Brian Ulicny(2008) reports that the importance of Malaysian blogsphere increases because the advance of technologies and internet growth. It also provide properties analysis. The current blogsphere of Malaysia can say to be very big as Brian Ulicny(2008) also stated that Malaysia has around 26 million citizens. From the research i found, Ishimmer(2010) stated that the highest trend of blog's genre will be personal. As blogger blog and share about their personal life in many various.Personal blog will be prevalent as the genre is very wide and do not have specific audience to target on. The prevalent blog in Malaysia will be commercial blog. For example, facebook, twitter, myspace and the others.Dancho Danchev(2009) stated that twitter has a automatic advertising software to hit the market which i chose to support the point. Therefore, prevalent blog can give many benefits to community as it hits the market. Therefore, I will use Twitter as an example. By using twitter can give the community social benefit as in to enhance social networking by twitter. Joanna Penn(2010) also stated that twitter can create relationships, use for management and also to promote things where all this related to social.

How to make a good powerpoint presentation ?

A good powerpoint presentation is to attract our audience to focus on our presentation. Therefore, it is important for us to know better ways to create and improve our presentation slides. To create a good powerpoint presentation, there must be a combination of document design and good writing to perform the best understanding to others. One of the importance will be using photos, charts and graphs recommend by Wendy Rusell(n.d.) who stated that by adding images can enhance interest to audience and also add on meaning. Karen A. Schriver (1997) encouraged people to look more into the combination of text and images as it can influence the audience by using images as decorates.

This is the sub topic of my group presentation " Stage setting". I would like to use this example because we present it without any addition of images and this slides was the last to be present. My point is that, trough out the whole presentation, without adding any images will get the audience to tiredness and do not feel interested with the presentation anymore. Therefore, from the supporting sources of professionals and the research i found, i understand the importance of the interplay of images and words in presentation and this can give me a rough idea how to improve out presentation slides.

Other than that, writing good presentation is also important. Presentation slides should only include main points as it has limitation of information. Soloman Rothman(2005) stated that good writing involves direct and literally. Putnis, Peter and Petelin, Roslyn (1996) stated that writing to communicate is to add on important meanings to include in the text for better understanding.
Thus, this is the slide where i use to describe the importance of images. But now i know that there must be additional writing about it to give the best understanding to others.
